i could not agree with you more, how ever , i am actually not too bother by the fact straight guys are so stubborn about all the gross habits they think they have keep in order to be manly. i used, but not anymore, partly to do with fact i am in early thirties, it's the age where most men good looks starts to go downhill, FAST. esp if you live in australia, like i am, where the intensity of the uv ray is off the chart. i constantly see guys my age already begin to look like a younger version of mick jagger, which made me think to myself, you know, do whatever you like, because the way you are going, it is pretty certain you wont be laughing by the time you hit 40, so good luck with that, mate! So why bother argue?

One more thing, you don't eat the shells? I LOVE shrimp shells, they're the BEST part. Aaand they're nutritious (lots of calcium!). The analogy to pubic hair is just ... eugh. Also, I'm on the fence with the gay bar issue. I mean, gay bars are where gay guys/girls can go to find someone who's actually, you know, GAY, instead of playing the arethey/aretheynot game. If straight guys go (not sure if this will actually happen, but...) to the point in which gay gays start hitting on straight guys, thinking that they are gay, that's gotta be frustrating for the gay men.

LMFAO. You reek of self-loathing emasculating insecurity. Keep trying to think up pseudo-"justifications" for your pathetic self-image issues. LOL @ your non-existent concept of "masculine cred." Stay delusional, moron. Crawl back into the trailer you came from. This time, make sure someone throws the key away.

I came out late, at 21, to my football team mate, we were friends forever and we stayed friends. He went to a gay bar with me and had a great time, he's comfortable about himself. It won't make him gay, and he made out with 2 girls on the first visit.

Straight guys that have gay friends, that only came out to them later understand better that's it's about the person not the sex orientation.

Many people in general have self asteem issues and are not comfortable about themselves, gay and straight. And it shows and it's not very attractive to men or women.

Straight men with issues compensate for their insecurity by talking bad about gays. (not the only way how they do it of course but thats what im writing about here)

I had the whole football team to study. Had problems only with the guys that are not as hot, fit, or otherwise inadequate (hehe true story bro). But shutting them up is easy, fight them, humiliate them and then offer friendship, you don't want it but they will never be disrespectful again after, will be affraid of further humiliation, because that's what thea feel it is. Offering friendship part is to avoid them plotting behind your back for some lame revenge.

Basically, straight guys have issues like anyone else. If you, as a gay guy have problems with them, identify their issues and then play off them to make them stop. Or if you're lucky as I am my other straight friends just make ot completely out of the question to mention 'gay' in a negative context.

I have many straight friends, only some of them are close ones. I demand respect i give in return.

It is never a problem for gay and straight guys to have fun as friends if they are happy in their skin.

Its thinking like this that is eroding the masculine image! I don’t moisturise because it’s a waste of time! My hands are always going to be rough because of my job. I don’t drink mix drinks because it’s a waste of good alcohol. It’s not supposed to taste like candy, because its booze. Grow up and suck er down! Gay bars are a shitty place to pick up broads because a). every skirt in there is goanna be a fag hag and therefore be an emotional train wreck clinging to any masculine roll model she can find to replace the daddy that abandoned/abused her, and b). if chicks are getting "aroused" man-on-man shenanigans, they might be the kind who wanna give you a surprise of the strap on variety. Farts are funny. You don't have to be a pig about it but the only reason to restrain you self is if you’re trying to get into some uppity broads pants. If you looking for someone to marry she should think farts are funny too!! The only think I agree with you on is the Manscaping issue. and that’s only because it totally makes you Johnson look bigger. I’m not a mans man or anything. I don’t hunt or drive a huge truck, but I do have some things that "not doing' sets me apart from the gentler sex. Nothing against what you do, or who you are, but there are things that are masculine and feminine. If you do something that’s feminine, that’s ok, but it is going to lower you masculine cred. And those of us who want to preserve our masculine cred, may want to avoid doing those things :o)

Yeah, having sex with other men! That's just... gay.

Um. That was a bad joke, yes.

And your post reminded me of an episode of How I Met Your Mother when Barney's black brother brought them to a gay bar. The girls were excited to not be hit on constantly by horndog dudes (at first), the guys were totally pleased at getting hit on, and Marshall was wicked excited to be able to drink girly fruity drinks without judgement.

Really, I agree with you for the most part.

i agree. it is ridiculous that straight guys are so pigheaded about certain things that should apply to everyone, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. and most of it has to do with either personal care or something related to the expression of emotions. i've been living in europe for the last three years, and here things are very similar in certain ways, and very different in others.
i actually wrote a post on something along those lines.
here it is, if you're interested in taking a look: <a href="http://lookingformypearl.blogspot.com/2010/04/irreconciliable-nuances.html" target="_blank">http://lookingformypearl.blogspot.com/2010/04/irr...</a>
keep in mind that this is my third party female perspective - i'm neither a straight man nor a gay man - so i don't have a lot of insight!
